The design of the Apple iMac keyboard is highly innovative. Apple offers both wired and wireless keyboards, the wireless one is yet to reach the stores and it would add another $30 to the cost of the PC. Another notable feature is the MacBook Pro-style mechanism used in the keyboard, which it gives it a smooth and pleasurable typing experience.

There is a curious feature in the Apple iMac. That is its hidden camera. The built-in iSight video camera and the microphone are smartly hidden in the PC. All these once again prove that Apple is unbeatable in the design of trendy gadgets.

Apple’s new operating system, Leopard, is on its way to add to the Apple iMac. It is likely to be launched in October and it would be available along with the Apple iMac. At present Apple iMac is operating on Apple Mac OS x 10.4.10. Apart from this, it is provided with other software from Apple including iLife ‘08 media software and iWork suite. iLife ‘08 will function as the organizer and editor of your digital photos and videos while iWork will give you the details of those applications. Another important software added is the Apple SuperDrive dual-layer DVD burner.

Apple iMac uses a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 mobile processor. The default memory would be 1GB of 667MHz DDR2 RAM; however, there are options to upgrade it up to 4GB. The upgrades made in the CPU and the graphics card will enable the Apple iMac to put forth exceptional performance for all types of multimedia files. The performance of the Apple iMac with Photoshop, iTunes and CineBench are found to be excellent.

The upgraded hardware includes a new wide-bandwidth 802.11n wireless adapter, a 256MB ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro graphics chip, and a wired mouse.
