YouTube.com, the incredibly popular video portal, is adding more bandwidth to their datacenters in order to keep up with user demands. Level 3 Communications will provide several big pipes (multiple 10GigE — multiple 10 gigabits per second ports) accoss a nationwide fiber optics network.

Some experts estimate that the monthly expenditures of YouTube in bandwidth alone could topple over $1 million USD. That’s the result of having over 100 million video downloads per day which is expected to steadily grow.
