From weight loss to drug addictions, people are always looking for the “magic pill” that will fix all of their problems. Well, just recently, the Food and Drug Administration approved a brand new nicotine-free anti-smoking pill from Pfizer. The pill is one of the only two anti-smoking drugs that have made it past the Food and Drug Administration. The pill, called Varenicline, will be a twice a day tablet.

Dr. Steven Schroeder, a professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco said:

“It’s a welcome new addition. It’s like with cancer or heart disease or high blood pressure or diabetes: The more effective treatments you have, the better off patients are.”

The pill will work in two ways: it will cut the pleasure of smoking and by reducing the withdrawal symptoms.
